Montvale Park is a newly created park in Bedford County.  Just behind the Montvale Elementary School off of HWY 460.  To get to the park's parking lot you will want to turn off of HWY 460 at the Montvale Elementary School.  Take the first right on the gravel road and head down to the baseball field and trail access parking.  Ride into the grassy field and head left into the opening (there is a yellow diamond shaped sign with a black arrow at this spot).  Another spot for trail access is off of Quarterwood Road (across from the BP gas station).  The parking lot will be approximately 1.5 miles on your left.

Montvale park is a 6.5 mile trail system that winds through old growth forest.   It is a very nice and scenic trail system.

Parking for the race:  Enter the Montvale Elementary School and take the gravel road, on the right, down the hill to the parking lot and race start.

Course Description:

The race will start at the Montvale Elementary School.  From there you will enter the back of the park and get on Cliffhanger, then a left on Coyote Ridge, and a right on to the access road.

From here the 5 mile and 10 mile course differ.

The 5 mile course will stay on the access road for another tenth of a mile and catch Beale's Treasure as it crosses the road from left to right.  You will go right, continue on Beale's Treasure to it's end.  From here you will go left and run the Easy Street Loop clockwise.  At the end of Easy Street you will take a left and get on Ridgeline.  At the end of Ridgeline you will take a left on Coyote Ridge to Cliffhanger and back out the way you started to the Finish.

The 10 mile course will take Beale's Treasure to the left shortly after getting on the access road and continue on Beale's Treasure to it's end.  From here you will go left and run the Easy Street Loop clockwise.  At the end of Easy Street you will take a left and get on Ridgeline.  At the end of Ridgeline you will take a right on Coyote Ridge.  At the end of Coyote Ridge you will continue on to do another loop of Beale's Treasure, Easy Street, Ridgeline, and Coyote Ridge.  From here you will take Cliffhanger back out the way you started to the Finish.
